Abra Academy

The Abra Academy is powered by Thinkific, one of the market leaders for e-learning platforms. We chose Thinkific after comparing the features and accessibility of several e-learning platforms. 

Video accessibility

One of our key requirements was support for captions and transcripts. Thinkific supports captions and transcripts. We have provided captions and transcripts for all training courses.

Platform accessibility

We tested the accessibility of several e-learning platforms and found various accessibility issues in all of them. Thinkific had the least amount of issues, and is working on improving their accessibility. We have reached out to them with our findings.

Known issues

Quiz questions are not programmatically connected to their answers. We are unable to modify the markup.

Closed captions sometimes display quotation marks as a string of characters. We cannot adjust this behavior.

On the "Create New Account" page, focus order does not navigate correctly to the "Sign up" button after the "Customer Privacy Policy" link. Instead, focus moves to the bottom-right corner of the screen. This issue occurs when using screen readers such as Narrator and NVDA.

We have reported these issues to Thinkific and are awaiting their resolution.
